ARMY JROTC RIBBON & AWARD GUIDANCE
Ribbons can be earned throughout the year once you participate in one of the numerous JROTC activities or events scheduled during the year. You will earn a ribbon for each activity or event you participate in during the year. The awards help cadets take pride in their uniform and their accomplishments. The ribbons are separated into Academic(N-1), Military(N-2), Athletic(N-3), and Miscellaneous(N-4) award categories. They are worn in order of precedence (Academic, Athletic, Military, Miscellaneous).
DRILL TEAM AWARDS:
Ribbon (N 3-4) = participate in one (1) drill meet event.
Drill Team Arc = participate in five (5) separate drill meet events.
Drill Team Cord = participate in one (1) drill meet events.
COLOR GUARD AWARDS:
Ribbon (N 3-6) = participate in one (1) Color Guard event.
Color Guard Arc = participate in five (5) separate competitive Color Guard events.
Color Guard Cord = participate in one (1) competitive Color Guard events.
NOTE: Two (2) non-competitive Color Guard events equals one (1) competitive event.
RIFLE TEAM AWARDS:
Ribbon (N 3-7) = selected for the Rifle Team.
Rifle Team Arc = participate in one (1) Head to Head Rifle Competition events.
Rifle Team Cord = score 200 or better during a competition.
Rifle Team Letter (Block H) = maintain a 225 average or better during the shooting season (school year).
